The true meaning of surrender is to give up on the fabricated identity we erected upon exiting Source, and return to the bare truth of our original state of being, the immutable and eternal “All That Is Life Principle”.
Surrender – Meaning
The journey involved in this well brushed definition is quite daunting. The image we crafted of ourselves, enforced by life times of errancy on the other side, in the illusionary 3-D reality, has caused us to sediment into a rock solid mask and armor. Soundly established in the field of form and matter, with the beliefs that our mind created around them, we have lost touch with what’s beyond the veil: our true Essence. That is one of the 3 majors factors causing our inability to surrender.
Obstacles to Surrender
The second major obstacle we are up against inherently since we have incarnated is: duality. We forever asserted our self through reaction, not from knowingness and consciousness, since we lost those to begin with. We made up a sense of self that had to be “up against” in order to prove our existence, our importance and individuality. “If you are red, I have to be blue to identify, I have to be different to see that I am me!” Don’t we constantly witness this in parents/children relationship, which is an extension of our dynamic with our divine parents of course? In there lies the core of our main resistance and inability to surrender. We constantly fight to establish or preserve our sense of identity.
Third factor: To add up to our already tortuous predicament of being lost in 3-D paradigm trying to establish our value and identity, we also feel that there is something out there that is looming down to get us! A force, the boogieman, the wharf of God, the higher power we have to respond to, because we misbehaved, because we “sinned!” All of this is of course unconscious, like a vague background noise we don’t really want to hear, but it’s nonetheless very actual! Where does it come from? 1) our feeling of having made a mistake by exiting Source, mistake that we have to repair and be redeemed for, and 2) the shadow that our programs enforced by the ego is casting upon us like a hidden enemy. These two instances are at the root of our sense of duality, our sense of battling against to survive, with no love and no acceptance.
Surrender and Strip Away Filters
Surrender is the stripping away from all the filters, all the opacity created by our duality and the amnesia we suffer about who we are. Surrender is to stop the desperate attempt we all have to establish a sense of value outside of ourselves, in the world of form. Surrender is getting out of the guilt we carry by unconsciously thinking we did something wrong that caused us to be forsaken and rejected. Surrender is to finally realize that there is nothing out there that wants to dominate us but the magma of our own self made beliefs! Surrender is the glorious and final realization that what we give in is our very Self!
Surrender can be done with the systematic retrieval of the lost consciousness that will remove all shadows, and brush all confusion away. It will establish a direct pathway to our point of origin, our Source. When all this confusion is removed, clear knowingness, true consciousness is restored and along with true surrender come all the perks of life: peace, delight, abundance and grace!
